The beautiful lake is situated in Wayanad district Kerala.  This is a popular destination because of its scenery and atmosphere. It is also known as pookode lake, located around 2 km away from vythiri. The lake is settled in the evergreen forest and wooded slopes and it is one of the prettiest lakes in Wayanad.  The lake accessible via the motorable road is an excellent place for traveling or picnicking, mainly with family and loved ones. Moreover, the a beautiful natural view there is a pedal boating facility, a perimeter trail with a rich backdrop tree, seeing freshwater aquarium, shopping or handcrafts and just walking around. One of the main tributaries of the Kabani River, the Panamaram rivulet originates from here. The lake is maintained by the South Wayanad Forest division.

At the time of boating its able to view the stunning beauty of the lake, and it will be a special experience for the visitors. There is also a fish spa, where you can refreshen. In the adjacent children's park kids can play and enjoy and for adults, there is horse riding on the shores and cycling around the lake. There has a small cafeteria, where you can get ice creams, sweet corn, and other freshly prepared beverage and snacks. The lake and its surrounding area are well-maintained, such that they invoke the unspoiled beauty of nature. 

The winter season is the ideal time to visit this location. At this time the weather is pleasant, the temperature is low and the vibes are refreshing because of the recent monsoon.
