As we know most of the places in Wayanad were awesome and in particular, Kuruvadweep is the most beautiful spot for nature lovers and a popular eco-tourism centre.

The Kuruvadweep is also known as Kuruva island. The island is situated on an area of 950 acres on the tributary of the Kabani River, which flows eastwards in Kerala. The biggest feature of this uninhabited island is its rich flora and fauna. The dweep is home to rare species of birds, butterflies and herbaceous plants, including herbs. This is a group of about 159 small islands that have been green in the monsoons. The islands contained two small freshwater lakes. They are also known as safe haven for migratory birds along with hornbills, parrots and many butterfly species. The land comprises three densely wooded uninhabited islands and a few submergible satellite islands, which lie on the banks of the tributaries of Kabani River in Wayanad. All the islands reached on foot through the rocky Streams. The nearest town, Mananthavady, is located at a distance of 17km from the island.

The Kerala Forest department runs tourism here, as a part of that they arrange Bamboo boats for travelling from one island to another.  The walking trails in the dweep are perfectly maintained and a mind-blowing experience for the site visitors. It will take you a whole day to visit Kuruvadweep. The island is surrounded by streams and you have a boat ride or rafting through this stream enjoying the enchanting beauty of the dweep. Bamboo rafting is a very interesting thing. Because of its unique geographical characteristics, the location has become an attractive tourism destination. Since the Kuruva island is a reserve forest, the entrance is restricted and monitored by the Vana astrakhan Samiti department of Kerala tourism department in order to protect the forest. This island is close to the Begur wildlife sanctuary.

Surely the Kuruvadweep brings you happiness and it’s the best option for those who want to enjoy the blissful beauty of nature...
